Charlotte is the director of her Stroud-based business, Inspire Heritage Services Ltd, and is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC).

With 18 years experience in the historic environment sector, Charlotte worked for 13 years at Gloucester City Council as Principal Conservation Officer.

She has extensive experience providing conservation advice on heritage-led regeneration schemes including a local development order, Gloucester Prison, King Quarter, The Fleece, a High Street Heritage Action Zone, and a number of National Lottery Heritage Funded projects including a Townscape Heritage Initiative, a £5m scheme at Gloucester Cathedral including solar panels on the Grade I listed Cathedral and a £4.5m scheme to restore Llanthony Secunda Priory.

A key aspect of her role is providing conservation and design advice regarding built heritage schemes working closely with architects, homeowners, grant funders, local authority officers, and liaising with statutory stakeholders such as Historic England and amenity societies.

Further experience relates to writing heritage policy guidance for local development plans, conservation areas, heritage strategies, and local lists, together with master planning and design briefs for heritage sites.

Charlotte is also a member of the southwest IHBC branch committee, a member of the Gloucestershire Design Panel, and visiting lecturer at the Cultural Heritage Institute, Swindon.
