David is a chartered architect and urban designer who has delivered transport, commercial, heritage, housing, sport, healthcare, and public realm projects for over 30 years.
In 2012 he founded D.U.P Limited an independent Placemaking and development consultancy with offices in London and Glasgow. D.U.P undertakes architectural commissions and gives strategic advice to public, private and third sector clients on urban regeneration, placemaking and transport infrastructure policy and projects.
David was the first Design Champion for Transport for London and was Assistant Director at Design for London, delivering design excellence into a wide range of projects including: Crossrail, Green Park Underground Station, London Overground, West Ham Bus garage, Legible London, Finsbury Park Interchange, Windrush & Kings Cross Squares, and the Emirates Cable Car. To complement his role within TfL, he co-founded, funded and was an initial board member of Urban Design London.
Currently D.U.P leads on strategic transport matters promoting active travel and sustainable growth for supporting Brentwood Borough, Herefordshire, and South Lincolnshire Partnership Councils.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation, David has sits on their urban design panel. He also chairs design review panels for several London Boroughs, Network Rail and is on the historic places panel for Historic England.
