David Jones is Managing Director and Head of the Planning Division at Evans Jones Ltd.

The company provides planning, property, Project Management and Disabled Access consultancy services from offices in London, Reading and Cheltenham(HQ). In my professional role I provide planning consultancy services across a range of sectors, including, residential, retail, regeneration, education (public and independent) leisure and commercial developments.

I regularly advise upon contentious applications/appeals both within the public and private sectors. I give evidence before Inquiries and act as expect witness for planning related disputes. I sit on the board of the Gloucestershire Design Review Panel and am immediate past chair of the panel. I regularly chair design reviews for schemes ranging from single exceptional dwellings – multi-million pound redevelopment proposals.

I regularly speak at property forums and seminars on planning issues generally and specifically how the country can reinvent its high streets. I am dual qualified as a Chartered Town Planning and Chartered Building Surveyor ( a rare blend) which has served me well in being able to bring commercial and practical realism to schemes I advise upon or which I have reviewed. I am passionate about improving place via high quality design and landscaping.
