Adaptation planning, Climate change , Community place-based action
With over fifteen years’ experience of working in the Built Environment within Practice, a national Contractor and an Active Travel charity, I am now part of the Designing for a Changing Climate Project Team at Architecture and Design Scotland.
In 2019 the Energy and Climate Change Directorate of the Scottish Government asked A&DS to help implement Scotland’s Climate Change Plan and Act at a local level. Our Pilot report was published in October and was recently referenced in the update to Scotland’s Climate Change Plan (RPP3). I am a member of the Scottish Governments net zero carbon heat working group and a contributor to the Net Zero Carbon Standard for new Public Buildings, a new legislation focusing on Scope 3 emissions.
As a Trustee of Creative Carbon Scotland, a charity that embeds environmental sustainability within the arts and cultural sector in Scotland, I am responsible for ensuring it is run in the interests of the people it is here to support, strategically overseeing the management and administration of the organisation. I have also recently been appointed as Chair of A Place in Childhood, an organisation that bridges the gap between research, action and young people’s participation in and with the built environment.
