Maayan has worked at the intersection of anthropology, architecture and urban design for over a decade, and consults on the psycho-social aspects of spatial design.
Having established the role of anthropologist urban designer at one of the UK’s foremost studios, she went on to set up an independent consultancy and is engaged in academic research into urbanisation and health. Maayan works at a number of scales, including individual buildings, public spaces and masterplans. She has been involved with a number of high-profile projects in central London, developing interdisciplinary strategies to promote vibrancy, wellbeing and socio-economic sustainability. She trained at the University of Cambridge, University College London and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and is a Built Environment Expert for the Design Council. Her current research examines urban wellbeing as it relates to the integration of diverse user groups in European cities.
