Areas of Expertise
Community development, Neighbourhood planning, Urban design
Passionate about engaging communities in placemaking, I am currently a lead consultant working on Neighbourhood Plans in rural Norfolk and Suffolk.
The owner of a small business, I project manage, guide and write Neighbourhood Plans with teams of local volunteers. I am trained in Urban Design and have a background in local and regional government (community development and the built environment). For the last 20 years have aimed to ensure that all community development work builds local capacity. Community-led design is integral to my approach to the delivery of great places. I also have a strong reputation for the graphical design and facilitation of community consultation events.
I currently deliver high quality (in person and online) practical training for Town and Parish Councils. I have worked on a range of schemes, from small-scale community initiatives (e.g., village halls improvements, community transport and community infrastructure plans), through to the management of large regional programmes (e.g., managing the East of England Design Review Panel and the Regional Empowerment Partnership for the Regional Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Communities).
