Throughout 2020/21, against the difficult backdrop of the pandemic, Design Council continued to make huge strides in developing new research into design’s holistic value and in placing design high on the government’s agenda.

Alongside this research, through Design Council Programmes, the team and wider network of Experts have addressed all kinds of issues, from improving health and wellbeing, to enabling sustainable living, to increasing people’s design skills to improve outcomes.

The report also details how Design Council intensified its focus on inclusive design and diversity, including refreshing the network of Design Council Experts so they better reflect the communities we serve.
